Top 5 Wednesday :: Favorite Witches

There’s a lot of werewolf and ghost and vampire and dragon chatter over at the Top 5 Wednesday Group on Goodreads this week.

And I lovvvvvvve it. 😍

I, however, decided on sharing “witches” for this week’s prompt simply due to the fact I’m feeling quite witchy myself this evening. (I’ll let you interpret that in whatever way you so choose.)

Here’s a few of my favorites:

See what I did there? With the titles? That, y’all, is just pure laziness.

ALAS, the show must go on.

P. S. – I need it noted that Hermione Granger is still NUMERO UNO.

Who are some of YOUR favorite witches in literature?

Lots of love,

– B + H

  1. Giiiirl, I just bought Bone Witch not too long ago, but it’s still sitting in my TBR pile. I haven’t made it there quite yet! Lol. Hermione is definitely the best, I’m also a fan of Elaphaba (from Wicked); if you consider her a literary witch. Lol.

    1. It’s kind of slow to “get into” but once it gets rolling, I really enjoyed it. It would be a fantastic re-read for this time of year. Suuuuper atmospheric. — and I’ll have to look up the Spellcaster series. Not sure I’ve ever heard of it! I like Claudia Gray though.

    1. 1. Truthwitch is AHMAZING! I love Dennard’s characters/worldbuilding.
      2. A Discovery of Witches is dense but if you give her a fair chance, I also really loved it. Really atmospheric and moody.
      3. Blood Witch is the only one that I’m CURRENTLY reading. So, no formed opinions yet.

  2. I feel like I haven’t read as many witch books as, say…vampires, which is weird because I loved witch shows/movies as a kid! Truthwitch has been on my TBR forever and I’ve been curious about Discovery of Witches (and the upcoming vampire book by the same author!) Oh, and Hermione ALL THE WAY. 😀 ❤
