Top 5 Wednesday :: Books I Should’ve Read By Now

You know how it is: you fall in love with a series (seriously, you obsess), you mourn when you have to wait a whole year until the next book comes out, you immediately buy said book when it’s released, then…it sits on the shelf not to be caressed with loving fingers until you find yourself at home with strep throat six months later or avoiding a social outing because, introvert, duh.

Maybe some people don’t do that because they’re normal and they actually follow through on things that capture them. But me? Waving over here, in the back, sipping on some peach wine and eating Pizza Rolls – am not the Queen of Sticking It Out. I crush on characters and worlds so hard and tell myself: “Brianna, you GOTTA get the next book. You just gotta!” And then when I do? I have a tendency to tuck it next to its predecessor on the shelf, where they “look pretty” and then leave it to gather dust.

I’m disgusting, I know.

Allow me to share in your disgust this evening, however, with this week’s Top 5 Wednesday Freebie and showcase five books I should’ve read by now:

Aren’t they beautiful? Seriously. I loved all the other books in each of these series so much I could dance on my kitchen table. (Wait, that’s the wine kicking in. But still!)

What is wrong with me?

I tell myself, month after month, to pick them up. “Brianna, you own them. You bought them to read, not to lay dying without ever being felt up,” I tell myself, as I purchase another book online and dig myself deeper in my TBR Pit of Glorious Gloom.

Please tell me I’m not alone in this, y’all. Please tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel.

✌🏻

– Much love,

B.

  1. I have so.many.books on my shelf that I have yet to read! My husband gave me a pretty strong side-eye when I came home with a new bookshelf to hold all these unread beauties.

I have read all on your list but Recreated though. My favorite from this list is tied between Tower of Dawn (I’m a die hard Chaol lover) and A Torch Against the Night.

    1. I started on Tower of Dawn tonight, after posting this. Chaol will always have my heart, too- can’t help it. I am curious to see how I feel at the end of this one though!

Every single time I buy more books, I don’t have buyers remorse, I have shelf remorse. 😂😂😂
